Annette Halpin Memorial Award
The Annette Halpin award is for young musicians, composers, singers, producers living in South Dublin County Council’s Administrative Area
The award is funded by South Dublin County Council and the Halpin Family. It was established to celebrate the legacy of Annette Halpin, a singer / songwriter from Tallaght widely known for her role in community activism and community development who passed away in 2009.
You must be between 12 and 25 years of age to apply.
You can apply for a maximum of €1000.
You can apply for this award to cover the costs of the following (you may apply to cover more than one of these):
- Music lessons
- Instruments
- Masterclasses
- Music equipment
- Rehearsal costs
- Recording costs
Assessment Criteria
In your application you must show:
- Why this award is important for your musical development
- How the money will be spent
- How you will achieve your goals within the time and resources available
We will assess your application based on these criteria:
- Importance of this award for your musical development
- Financial viability
- Your ability to achieve your goals within the time and resources
Terms & Conditions
- This award can't be to fund your level undergraduate studies.
- You must acknowledge South Dublin County Council and the Halpin Family. Logos are available from the South Dublin County Council Arts Office.
- The funding cannot be passed on to a third party. You may not apply on behalf of someone else.
- Judges will have the discretion to split the award between a number of applicants.
- Successful applicants will be asked to participate in evaluation of the fund by providing a short, written report describing their experiences and the contribution of the fund to their development.
- Applicants awarded funding must agree to participate in an interview for the NOISE South Dublin website and be open to discussing their experience with other young artists.
- South Dublin County Council reserves the right to publicise the awarding of the fund. Successful applicants may be asked to be available to South Dublin County Council for promotional material.
1) If you have received the Annette Halpin award in 2021 or 2022 you can’t apply in 2023.
2) If you have received the Annette Halpin award in 2020 or earlier you can apply.
3) You must be aged from 12 to 25.
