Community Support Fund under the Community Enhancement Programme – Ring-fenced fund for Women’s Sheds
The Department of Rural and Community Development (“the Department”) has allocated a fund for operating costs in Women’s Sheds nationally. A Fund amounting to €2,988 has been allocated for Women’s Sheds in Offaly.
This is a ring-fenced fund under the Community Support Fund. The application process is being administered by Local Community Development Committees (LCDCs).
Applications for this funding can be made online on this application form. Women’s Sheds are eligible to apply, once they meet the LCDC’s qualifying criteria. It envisaged that this funding is allocated in a relatively equal manner across Women’s Sheds that submit valid applications.
Eligibility

Applications must be submitted online to Offaly LCDC by 12pm Noon on Friday 24th February 2023.
Under the Community Support Fund, grants will be provided to Woman's Sheds towards funding for operating costs (e.g. electricity costs, heating costs, insurance costs etc.).
Only energy/operating costs incurred in the period 1st April 2022 to 31st March 2023 are eligible.
Deduct any costs/arrears prior to 1 April 2022 if included in a bill/invoice.
Grant monies must be expended and drawn down from the LCDC by 31st August 2023.
Evidence of expenditure, including copy of receipts /invoices and copy of bank statement showing payment of bills applied for, will be requested and must be provided by email to community@offalycoco.ie before 17th November 2023.
The information supplied by the applicant Women’s Shed must be accurate and complete.
Misinformation may lead to disqualification and/or the repayment of any grant made.
All information provided in respect of the application for a grant will be held electronically. The Department reserves the right to publish a list of all grants awarded on its website.
The Freedom of Information Act applies to all records held by the Department and Local Authorities.
The application must be completed by the Chairperson, Secretary or Treasurer of the Woman's Shed.
It is the responsibility of each organisation to ensure that it has proper procedures and policies in place including appropriate insurance where relevant.
The Department’s contribution must be publicly acknowledged in all materials associated with the purpose of the grant.
Generally no third party or intermediary applications will be considered.
Late applications will not be considered.
Breaches of the terms and conditions of the grants scheme may result in sanctions including disbarment from future grant applications.

Incomplete applications will not be considered for funding.
