The Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards introduces the Sustainability Leadership Business Award to honour businesses that have successfully integrated environmental sustainability into their core strategies and operations
This award celebrates companies that demonstrate outstanding leadership in sustainability, environmental stewardship, and community impact.
By recognising both small improvements and groundbreaking changes, this award highlights the importance of sustainability for long-term business success and environmental stewardship.
Judging Criteria:
Judges will evaluate the following aspects:
- Environmental Policies and Commitments:
- Comprehensive Policy: The business must have a comprehensive environmental policy or strategy addressing key sustainability issues and setting measurable goals.
- Public Commitments: The business should have made public commitments to environmental initiatives or participated in industry-wide sustainability programs.
- Operationalisation and Implementation:
- Innovative Solutions: Implementation of innovative solutions or practices to address environmental challenges, with positive impacts on the business and stakeholders.
- Renewable Energy and Sustainable Practices: Promotion and use of renewable energy sources and sustainable practices within operations.
- Product and Service Development: Commitment to developing and promoting environmentally friendly products or services, including sustainable sourcing and responsible disposal practices.
- Impact and Results:
- Measurable Outcomes: Demonstrated reduction in environmental footprint, such as decreases in energy consumption, waste generation, greenhouse gas emissions, and water usage.
- Technological Adoption: Effective utilisation and integration of eco-friendly technologies and processes to minimise environmental impact.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engagement Initiatives: Active engagement with stakeholders to understand and address environmental concerns through initiatives like employee education programs, community partnerships, and transparent reporting.
Eligibility
Eligibility:
To be eligible for the Sustainability Business Award, nominees must:
Have been in operation for a minimum of 12 months.
Be based in the Limerick City Region (Mid-West).
Qualify as either a Micro, SME, or Large (including MNCs) type business.
Please be aware that any misrepresentation or breach of the above warranties may result in elimination from the awards.
