The purpose of festival support grant is to aid groups and organisations with an emphasis on providing funding for a diverse range of events that are inclusive and add to the reputational value of Waterford as a ‘happening place’.
Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified via email no later than 1st February 2021. Successful applicants will receive a Grant Letter of Offer via email. The Letter will detail all conditions and requirements attached to the grant.
In order to submit a valid application, organisers must:
• Have a committee of at least three members: the chairperson, the secretary and the treasurer in place.
• Have watched, understood and will comply with the online tutorials for festival organisers provided on www.waterfordfestivals.ie
• Outline a clear plan for how your festival will address any Government health guidelines in place at the time of holding your festival and any restrictions arising therefrom
• Have a clear plan for festival promotion
• Promote practices that are inclusive
Your application will be judged under the following criteria: (Ensure all fields are completed).
Field A – Festival Details – max.10%
Field B – Governance Structure – max. 10%
Field C – Festival Programme – max. 30%
Field D – Festival Promotion Plan – max. 20%
Field E – Festival Growth – max. 15%
Field F – Festival Finance – max. 15%
Field G- Public Health Compliance proposals - Yes/ No
Upon receiving Grant Letter of Offer, festival organisers must also:
Have an insurance cover to the value of €6.5m for festival activities. A letter from the insurance company indemnifying Waterford City & County Council from any claim should accompany this. Contact your local broker for advice.
